The earliest mention of the church in Gniewczyce can be considered the book “Mironowicz A.: The Turaŭ-Pinsk bishopric in the 11th-16th centuries. Trans Humana, 2011.” Where in the Turow-Pińsk Biskupstvo the paraphyses in the XI-XVI century are described, the Gniewicz paraphy is also mentioned.
The church after the signing of the Unia was converted to Greek Catholicism, which is confirmed by the preserved metric Uniate books in RGIA for 1800-1801.
There is also a list of Uniate ministers from 1759:

Grodno Orthodox Church Calendar. Volume 1.” It was built (or restored) by Joseph Gutowski. At that time it was Greek-Catholic.
After the Polotsk assembly of 1839, the church was handed over to the Orthodox.
The church in Grevchitsy is marked on the maps of 1864 and 1866.
On January 15, 1878, the Ivanowo dean consecrated the church building after it had been repaired.
It is worth mentioning the “Grodno Diocesan Gazette” for 1906 June 18-25, No. 24-25. Vasily Banenovich, who completed the courses of a psalmist and was sent to church service in the village of Gnewczyce.
In 1921 there were 414 Orthodox Christians and no Catholics in the village of Gnewczyce. In the period from 1914 to 1923 the parish of Gnewczyce village was a part of Ivanovo commune. In 1930, the rector of the church of Gnewczyce village was priest Nikolai Mikitchuk, under whom the church was renovated.
