The village of Halik is probably very closely connected with the history of the Dnieper-Bugs Canal, which in its time helped the settlement to grow into a village.
The village of Halik is marked on the military topographic map of the Russian Empire of 1846-1863:
From written sources, the village is mentioned in 1858, Wolowiel volost, part of the Jamniki rural community, Kobryn district, Grodno province. It was part of the Ludwinowo estate of the landowner Kalikst Orzeszko, and there were 26 revision souls (state villagers) in the village.
