Village of Wiry

The village of Wiry was mentioned in 1762 as a tract on the land of the Torokan monastery. From 1795 it became part of the Russian Empire, Kobryn district of Slonim, from 1797 Lithuanian, from 1801 Grodno province. The village is marked on Schubert’s map of 1826-1840: In 1858, the village was part of the Ulicka rural municipality, Imienin parish, Kobryn district, there were 100 revision souls (state villagers). In 1905 the village had 215 inhabitants.
